Consistent with Roman Catholic teaching, students learn the importance of living out Christian principles of love and kindness while challenging themselves to excel in the pursuit of academic excellence, responsibility, and purpose. 

This honor was awarded to only 50 private schools across the country last year. Espiritu has test scores in the top 15% of the nation. Espiritu Santo is the only school in the Tampa Bay area that earned this recognition in 2019. 

The Responsive Classroom approach to teaching is comprised of a set of well-designed practices intended to create safe, joyful, and engaging classroom and school communities. The emphasis is on helping students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills in a learning environment that is developmentally responsive to their strengths and needs.

Service is interwoven into the student experience and is a part of daily student life at Espiritu. From the very youngest students in our pre-kindergarten classes, to the pre-teens in middle school, students are encouraged to help others. Their involvement in service projects and their commitment to improving lives around them is a formative aspect of their education.

At Espiritu Santo Catholic School, we offer a gifted education program that challenges our students through enrichment opportunities. Our program promotes critical thinking and reasoning skills and enhances learning. The students are encouraged to develop and expand their cognitive skills, while utilizing differentiated strategies for learning.

Our Middle School House System is rooted in the cardinal virtues and theological virtues of our Catholic faith. A virtue is a habitual and firm disposition to do good. It allows the person not only to perform good acts, but to give the best of himself.
