Espiritu Santo offers a wide range of sports teams. An email will be sent out to all fifth through eighth grade families to announce a sport season and an opportunity to sign up.
Students must turn in a Diocesan Sports Participation form signed by his/her doctor during our Back to School Bonanza in August. If a form is not turned in at this event, it must be turned in prior to a student participating in tryouts, games, or practices. Tryouts are used to determine numbers and place athletes on teams where their skills are best suited, so the child has the best opportunity for quality playing time. JV teams will consist of fifth/sixth graders and varsity teams will consist of seventh/eighth graders. Occasionally, a sixth grade student may be moved to varsity and fourth grade students may be asked to fill JV teams. Girls Volleyball, Girls and Boys Basketball, Coed golf, and Boys flag football have limited positions available at the JV and varsity level in order to ensure a valuable experience for all participants. We do offer club and intramural recess tournaments for all students to have an opportunity to try and learn a new sport.

With 12 different sports and 23 different teams, all students in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to participate in ESCS interscholastic athletics. ESCS is a member the Pinellas Youth Conference, which consists of both Catholic and Christian schools in Pinellas County. Occasionally we have an opportunity to participate against other private schools in the area and are often invited to tournament play outside of our league. Our varsity teams compete in end of season tournament play and our Girls Varsity volleyball team participates in 2-3 weekend tournaments in the Fall. We have about an 80 percent participation rate and many multisport athletes in our athletic program.
