2019 National Blue Ribbon School Of Excellence

Kindness is at the heart of everything we do. It is our goal that every child we come into contact with becomes his or her best self. Our belief is that we have an obligation not only to educate but also instill in our students an intrinsic love of community, self-worth, leadership, and respect for others.  Every member of our school community is expected to treat each other with dignity and foster an environment of cooperation, confidence and courtesy. Our fundamental philosophy of nurturing body, mind and spirit enables us to provide a solid foundation on which our students can build both their educational and personal lives for years to come. Our rich and expansive curriculum, guided by the highest academic standards, inspires achievement and accomplishment in all students.

A Foundation Rooted In Faith

Consistent with Roman Catholic teaching, students learn the importance of living out Christian principles of love and kindness while challenging themselves to excel in the pursuit of academic excellence, responsibility, and purpose.

2019 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence

This honor was awarded to only 50 private schools across the country last year. Espiritu has test scores in the top 15% of the nation. Espiritu Santo is the only school in the Tampa Bay area that earned this recognition in 2019.

Responsive Classroom

The Responsive Classroom approach to teaching is comprised of a set of well-designed practices intended to create safe, joyful, and engaging classroom and school communities. The emphasis is on helping students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills in a learning environment that is developmentally responsive to their strengths and needs.

Community Service

Service is interwoven into the student experience and is a part of daily student life at Espiritu. From the very youngest students in our pre-kindergarten classes, to the pre-teens in middle school, students are encouraged to help others. Their involvement in service projects and their commitment to improving lives around them is a formative aspect of their education.

Academically Gifted Program

At Espiritu Santo Catholic School, we offer a gifted education program that challenges our students through enrichment opportunities. Our program promotes critical thinking and reasoning skills and enhances learning. The students are encouraged to develop and expand their cognitive skills, while utilizing differentiated strategies for learning.

Middle School Houses

Our Middle School House System is rooted in the cardinal virtues and theological virtues of our Catholic faith. A virtue is a habitual and firm disposition to do good. It allows the person not only to perform good acts, but to give the best of himself.
